Early Wake Up

In a recent meeting, a member curiously asked me, “When do you wake up for writing?”

My response was straightforward: “I rise between 3 am-4 am, and my day kicks off with Medium writing.”

Some members were intrigued, wondering how such an early start could be feasible.

The secret lies in a genuine love for the process and a deep desire to share something meaningful with readers. The core of my approach revolves around dedicating time to activities that have a lasting impact.

In a world where nearly 95% of our actions are temporary, I’ve found solace and purpose in embracing permanent endeavors. Let’s explore some of these activities that shape a meaningful and fulfilling life:

1. Book Writing:

  • Channeling thoughts and experiences into a book provides a tangible legacy.
  • Creating something enduring that can resonate with others for years to come.

2. Blog Writing:

  • Expressing ideas and insights through blogs contributes to a personal chronicle.
  • Sharing knowledge and perspectives that outlast the fleeting nature of social media.

3. Reading New Books:

  • Continuously learning and expanding one’s mind through literature.
  • Building a library of wisdom that transcends the transient nature of daily life.

4. Learning New Skills:

  • Developing skills that endure and contribute to personal and professional growth.
  • Cultivating a mindset of constant improvement for a lasting impact.

5. Building New Habits:

  • Establishing habits that promote well-being and personal development.
  • Creating a foundation for a fulfilling and purpose-driven life.

6. Making Memorable Experiences:

  • Prioritizing quality time with loved ones and creating lasting memories.
  • Focusing on experiences that bring joy and fulfillment, leaving a lasting imprint.

In the grand scheme of life, it’s the permanent activities that endure, while the temporary ones fade into the background.

People on their deathbeds never regret not spending more time in the office or on social media. Instead, regrets often revolve around not cherishing moments with family, neglecting personal relationships, and missing out on enriching experiences.

So, what is the right balance of activities that should be kept into the fabric of our lives? While everyone’s priorities and circumstances differ, a thoughtful approach may involve allocating around 30% of our time to permanent activities. Consider the following breakdown:

70% Temporary Activities:

  • Mundane and automatic tasks necessary for survival.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities that fulfill immediate needs.

30% Permanent Activities:

  • Engaging in activities that leave a lasting impact on personal growth and legacy.
  • Prioritizing time for relationships, learning, and meaningful experiences.

It’s essential to assess our own lives, acknowledging that the ideal ratio may vary. What matters most is finding a balance that aligns with our values and aspirations.

Take a moment today to reflect on your activities, and consider the proportion of permanence you want to introduce into your life.

Rewrite your story with purpose, focusing on activities that transcend the transient nature of the everyday, leaving behind a legacy of fulfillment and meaningful connections.

Have a thoughtful day…
