Arush with Raki

Every child has a right to grow with parental love and care.

But how many of them are lucky enough?

It’s a truth that leaves many of us grappling with the harsh realities faced by countless children like Arush.

I met Arush, a cherubic 11-month-old, and his story tugged at my heartstrings. Just four months prior, the comforting presence of his parents was cruelly snatched away from him.

Now, Raki, a mother of two, shoulders the immense responsibility of caring for this tender soul.

Raki’s journey has been laden with challenges. A widow for a decade, she ventured from Bengal to Gujarat, driven by the hope of providing a better life for her children.

Her hands, accustomed to hard work, have tirelessly sought opportunities, from hospital housekeeping to domestic chores, to keep the flame of hope alive in her rented home.

But fate had more trials in store. A fractured hand became a barrier to her livelihood, adding financial strain to an already precarious situation.
