In a heartbreaking incident reported by the Times of India on January 22, 2024, a 10th-grade student from Ahmedabad took his own life due to the threats of a cybercriminal engaging in sex extortion.

The young boy, unable to withstand the psychological and emotional pressure, succumbed to the tragic outcome. The criminal had extorted Rs 36,000 from him, stolen from his father’s account, and continued to demand more money.

This devastating incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in the digital world and the urgent need for comprehensive online safety education.

A few months ago, a young man tragically took his own life in Gujarat, falling victim to the prevalent menace of cybercrime. Incidents of this nature have become very common in today’s digital age.
